Back in 1999, when the Dreamcast was the hot new game system, David Cronenburg imagined a hotter, newer game system called eXistenZ. Overlooked entirely at the box office, many (blog post) attribute this science fiction movies to the target audience heading off to watch The Matrix instead. Is this the case, or was this tale of bio technological gaming and murder both for and against game sci-fi movies players doomed from the start?
